Running Simply Raw with Google Apps was not a difficult decision to make
Sebastian Rosa and Janine Zappini-Rosa launched Simply Raw in October 2011 with the goal of making nutritious and delicious snack bars for people on the move.
Having previously worked with small companies as an IT professional, Sebastian knew the challenges involved in hiring subcontractors to set up and maintain IT infrastructure. As a new business owner he wanted to establish clear organisational procedures while keeping costs down. He also wanted to ensure that his team would be able to work easily with each other and with vendors.
Sebastian’s search for a flexible and cost-effective IT solution led him to Google Apps. He uses a variety of Google Apps including Gmail for email, Calendar for shared scheduling, Hangouts for video conferencing, Drive for online storage and Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for document creation and sharing.
Sebastian says that his business has saved thousands of dollars by using Google Apps.
If you’re slightly IT savvy you can set it up all by yourself and it’s so much cheaper than hiring a subcontractor.
For example, Google Drive has helped his business to reduce clutter and share files easily with his team and externally with his vendors. Google Calendar and Hangouts allows him to interact with his team from any location, while Google Docs, Sheets and Slides have simplified his business processes without sacrificing any quality and productivity. Sebastian says that a major benefit of Google Apps is its ability to integrate with other cloud-based software, such as cloud based accounting software Xero.
Google Apps has been vital; not only in supporting our back end operations but also in helping us organise our business procedures. We didn’t have to worry about IT issues so we were able to drive our company’s growth, focusing on sales and product development.
Sebastian believes Google Apps will have a major role in Simply Raw’s future, supporting the ongoing scalability and growth of the business.
